MEP planning support

Independent planning support for MEP contractors who understand the delivery environment.

Start 2 Finish provides independent planning support for MEP contractors, built around installation sequencing, specialist package interfaces, workface and access constraints, and the testing, commissioning and handover sequence that so often sits on the critical path. Support is shaped by a founder with 12 years inside one of the UK's largest MEP contractors, and live experience supporting MEP contractors on complex, fast-track deliveries.

Where this helps

  • Installation sequencing is being driven by the structural programme and the MEP sequence is at risk.
  • Specialist package interfaces, workface and access constraints are constraining the delivery plan.
  • Testing, commissioning and handover sequencing is not adequately protected on the programme.

What it helps achieve

  • Installation sequencing that respects structural delivery and realistic workface access
  • Clear interface management and coordination across specialist packages
  • Testing, commissioning and handover sequencing protected on the critical path

Scope of support

  • Installation sequencing against structural delivery and project milestones
  • Specialist package interfaces, workface and access constraint management
  • Testing, commissioning and handover sequencing and coordination
  • Delay, disruption and EOT position protection for the MEP package

Why Start 2 Finish understands the MEP delivery environment

Start 2 Finish is led by Mike Jackson, who spent 12 years inside one of the UK's largest MEP contractors — rising from project manager to planner for the South West region — and who now supports MEP contractors such as SPIE (now Dalkia), SES Engineering Services, and, most recently, NG Bailey on the new battery manufacturing facility at Bluewater.

How Start 2 Finish works

Support can be provided as a targeted one-off review, a defined package of planning analysis or broader advisory input around a live delivery issue.

The scope is shaped around the question that needs answering, the pressure the project is under and the level of clarity leadership or the commercial team requires.

These proof points are the closest fit for the kind of issue this service is typically used to address.

  • Live project recovery and re-sequencing
Support on live projects where sequencing weakness, labour constraints and material pressure required practical re-planning, clearer reporting and tighter delivery control.
  • Delay position before discussions hardened
Planning input used to help teams understand progress, disruption and commercial exposure before delay discussions became more contentious.
